Concrete in Georgia has one enemy and it is the red clay underneath it. Clay holds water, swells, and then shrinks in a dry August. Slabs poured straight onto it without a proper base are the ones that crack across the middle in the second year.
What is included
- Excavation and a compacted gravel base — this is the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether the slab lasts.
- Four-inch slabs for walkways and patios, thicker where vehicles will sit, with wire or fiber reinforcement.
- Control joints cut at the right spacing so the concrete cracks where we chose, not where it wants to.
- Forms set with fall away from the house so water does not sit against the foundation.
- Broom finish for grip, and the edges tooled clean.
